Caribbean Stud Poker is a based on the regular 5
Card Stud game, with slight differences. It is played on a Blackjack
-Style table and is often offered as a progressive jackpot game in
online casinos. In this game, the player is competing against the
dealer’s hand. It is also an “ante” game, and as mentioned earlier,
is sometimes a progressive game that offers a $1.00 side bet to
participate in the progressive jackpot. Players win all or a
percentage of the progressive jackpot with a Royal Flush, Straight
Flush, Four of a Kind, Full House or Flush. To begin the game, all
players are to place an ante and then the dealer will five cards
(face down) to each player and himself. The dealer’s fifth card will
be placed face up. Once this is complete, each player has two
choices to choose from; they can either continue to play by placing
a bet equal to the ante on the “play” area or they can fold and lose
their ante. After all players have finished with their turns, the
dealer will expose the rest of his (or her) cards. The dealer’s hand
has to contain an Ace-King or better to qualify to challenge the
players’ hands. If it does not qualify, the dealer will fold and the
antes are paid at 1:1 and the “play” bets are returned. When the
dealer’s hand does qualify, each player’s hand is exposed and
individually compared to the dealer’s to determine wins and losses.
There are several available strategies for Caribbean Stud Poker, so there is a lot to choose from, however, we have chosen one of these to discuss just to give you an idea of what is available. This strategy is based on when to play and when to fold. You should always raise on any hand that is a pair or better and generally, you should fold on anything that is less than what it takes for the dealer to qualify (ace-king). Based on statistics, there are certain times when it is a good idea to. There are three main things to look for when making this decision. The first is to see if the dealer’s up card is any card between a 2 and a Queen and matches on of the cards in your hand. The second instance to raise in is if the dealer’s up card is an Ace or King and one of the cards in your hand is a Queen or Jack (or better). And finally, if the dealer’s up card does not match in rank any of your cards and you have a Queen in your hand and the dealer’s card is less than your 4th highest card. There are a few tips that are very useful to those who are new to the game and for those who have played before. The first of which is that you should watch the game before you play so that you can get a good feel for it, and can see how everything works, and even play a few hands in a free mode before you play for money. Also, make sure that you read the casino specific rules, and that you understand the limits at the table at which you are playing. You should also be aware that this is a slow paced social game that has a high house edge, so you have to watch your bank roll. If you are going to bluff, it is not advisable to bluff with anything worse than Ace-King. Another great thing to keep in mind is that when the progressive jackpot goes over $350,000 then you have more of an edge than the house, but doesn’t guarantee anything. These tips and more will help you to improve your game, and enjoy the experience a lot more, especially if you are new to this fantastic game. You can play Caribbean Stud Poker in these casinos:
