Omaha Hold’em is played with a standard 52 card deck. To begin the game, first the Big and Small Blinds are posted and then the dealer shuffles and then deals each player four cards, face down. Now begins the first round of betting. The two blinds do not have to place anymore money in the pot, unless someone raises, and betting begins with the player to the left of the second blind. After this first betting round, the dealer buries the top card on the deck and places the next three cards face up on the table, this is called the “Flop”. After the Flop, the next round of betting begins with the player to the left of the dealer. Once this is completed, one more card is placed face up on the table, this card is known as the “Turn”. The next round of betting continues as explained above and then the “River” card is placed face up on the table. There is one final round of betting and players are to use two hole cards and three community cards to make their best hand and the winner is determined.
